  During the demolition of the old Moskva Hotel in downtown Moscow, found a hidden store room in the basement containing over a ton of explosives. Apparently the explosives were stored there early in World War II, for destroying the building if the enemy got close, when the Germans were on the outskirts of Moscow in late 1941. Forgotten over the years, the room was not broken into until now. The explosives had to be carefully removed.
