On June 14 the Burundian government reported NLF guerrillas killed two Burundian Army soldiers in the township of Buterere. The NLF rebels were raiding to obtain food and supplies. On June 15 the Burundian Army engaged an FDD unit and claimed to have killed 13 FDD guerrillas. The FDD force had infiltrated from the DRC. The firefight took place south of Bujumbura.
