FDD rebels in Burundi attacked the town of Ruhororo and killed at least three people. They also attacked a displaced persons camp located in Muhanga. The Burundian Army also told western news agencies that between 1500 and 2000 rebels have participated in the series of attacks that began the first week of July. This new offensive has consisted of attacks on towns and villages in east and southeast Burundi.
