The highly touted negotiation session organized to end Burundi's civil war collapsed in mutual recriminations. The talks, held in Tanzania, include South Africa's President Thabo Mbeki. Burundi's President Domitien Ndayizeye met with Pierre Nkurunziza, the FDD's current leader, One issue that they completely failed to resolve is how to implement the ceasefire that was signed last December. That ceasefire has never been honored.
