The Tutsi-dominated Burundian government and the FDD (Forces for Defense of Democracy, the largest Hutu resistance organization) signed a new ceasefire and powersharing agreement. The government and the FDD then gave the FNL (National Liberation Forces) three months to join the peace accord. Four African presidents attended the signing ceremony (Uganda, South Africa, Mozambique, and the DRC).
