India announced that it is pulling it's 3,000 troops out of the Sierra Leone peacekeeping force (UNAMSIL). Indian general Vijay Jetley commands UNAMSIL. Recently, general Jetley accused commanders of the 3,200 man Nigerian contingent of collusion with the rebels (in the diamond trade) and corruption in general. The Nigerians complained and demanded that general Jetley be withdrawn. The UN agreed, and the Indians decided to withdraw their troops.
