Sources close to the TNG (Transitional National Government) also leaked that senior US military officers based in Djibouti, accompanied by two Djibouti army officers, arrived in Mogadishu. They will hold talks with senior TNG officials, including President Abdiqasim Salad Hasan, involving issues related to the war on terrorism. The visitors will supposedly stay in the city for three days, before leaving for southern Somalia's Kismaayo.

From where they will proceed to Garoowe, the capital of Puntland regional state (northeastern Somalia). US intelligence officials are also said to arrive soon in Boosaaso (northeastern Somalia's Puntland).
