The SPLA said that its troops were not involved in an attack on aid workers in southern Sudan. At least two aid workers were killed near the town of Betiu. An SPLA spokesman said the South Sudan Defense Forces (SSDF) (commanded by Riek Machar) and Paulino Matit's militia were operating in that region. Both of these militias are supported by the Khartoum government.
