Russia admitted that the crew of a Sudanese Am-12 transport that crashed yesterday, was Russian. Sudan has played down the fact that it has hired Russians and Eastern Europeans to fly and maintain aircraft for them. Russia is selling billions of dollars worth of weapons and other equipment to Sudan. The Russian made transports are often used to bomb civilians, and suspected rebels. The bombs are simply pushed out of the transports.
