October 27, 2005:
Over the last six months, the Islamic terrorism in the south is caused some 140 casualties a month, and it is getting worse. Because of the 30 attacks the day before, the army has said it will step up operations against Islamic rebels.
October 26, 2005: Throughout the south, Islamic terrorists launched about 50 attacks, leaving at least seven dead. The rebels seemed more concerned with stealing weapons and terrorizing local defense forces, than in killing people. What was shocking, to the government, was the ability to launch that many operations, simultaneously, across all three Moslem provinces.
October 21, 2005: Security around all government buildings in the south has been increased, in response to the use of car and truck bombs by Islamic terrorists.
