Uganda continued operations inside Sudan. On March 11 Ugandan Army sources reported a redeployment of forces along the border to meet LRA guerrilla groups. Another two battalions were part of the redeployment. The reports indicated LRA cadres had broken down into very small detachments. A subsequent army report said Uganda believed the LRA would try to reinfiltrate through the Kidepo National Park area. Uganda also said that while Khartoum has cut ties with the LRA, a pro-Khartoum militia, the Equatoria Defence Force (EDF), may be supporting LRA elements inside Sudan. On March 12, the Sudans Foreign Minister Mustafa Ismail said that Ugandas counter-guerrilla operations in south Sudan had his countrys support. Heres the Afp quote: "What is happening along the Sudanese-Ugandan border is taking place in coordination and full agreement between the two countries and in line with a specific agreement in the interests of Sudan and Uganda."
