Yemen police arrested nine men suspected of planning an attack on the US embassy. Also seized were automatic weapons, grenades and documents referring to the planned attack and connections with Osama Bin Laden. Over the weekend, FBI and navy investigators of the earlier bombing of the USS Cole were withdrawn from the country when information about the attack surfaced. Yemen has numerous feisty, and heavily armed clans and many areas where the government exercises little control. Yemen is the birthplace of Osama Bin Laden and he is very popular among some radical Islamic groups.
