Kockums of Sweden, Kongsberg of Norway, and Staalskipverft of Denmark will combine efforts to design and build a new class of diesel submarines for use by the three nations. Denmark wants four subs (the first to be delivered in 2005), Norway wants four (deliveries to start in 2010), and Sweden two (delivered in 2015-16). --Stephen V Cole
