Many nations are reequipping their ASW helicopter fleets with the Anglo-Italian EH101 Merlins. A 13 ton chopper carrying a crew of four (including a sonar operator and observer), it has a range of 1100 kilometers and can stay in the air for about three hours. It can carry up to three tons of weapons, including torpedoes, air to surface missiles and depth charges. The British Royal air force just received the last of its order of 44. Canada and Italy also use them, and Denmark and Portugal have them on order.
