On March 24 Turkey and the US began new discussions about the war in Iraq. On March 25 Turkey stated it intends to send Turkish troops into the Kurdish areas of northern Iraq. US envoys stressed that the US and Turkey were attempting to bridge difference and end the strain on bilateral relations. Progress reports on the talks continued through March 29 with no real progress made.
