The government has banned foreign journalists from the Moluku islands for 20 days, in anticipation of demonstrations by Christian separatists. The ban ends on April 30th. Over the decades, thousands of Mulukan Christians have moved to Europe, where they provide potential financial support for an armed separatist movement in the Malukus. The government doesn't want separatist demonstrations in the Muluks to show up on TV for this reason.
